• David Goodchild, the Press at Toad Hall, Philadelphia (link below) is reprinting "A Thousand Miles in the Silver Cloud".  The attached biographical article forms the forward. The images are of the second edition, 1879.The Press at Toad Hall prints on demand so delivery takes two or three weeks. William Forwell is a little known but his account should be of particular interest to cruisers on the east coast. more...

• SWIN, SWALE AND SWATCHWAY by H.L. JONES MA - The inspiration for The Magic of the Swatchways and other Maurice Griffiths titles ::
  Here is my foreword to another East Coast cruising title reprinted in The Shellback’s Library, published by D.N. Goodchild, Philadelphia.  Whilst listed in Toy* (reference number 844), until the Shellback’s Library reprint 'Swin, Swale and Swatchway' was a pretty uncommon volume.  The lack of the usual synopsis in his listing suggests that Toy himself may not have had access to a copy. The book will give much pleasure and yachtsmen now have the opportunity to read it without having to visit a national library.  It will be of particular interest to Maurice Griffiths’ fans.
